If you’re wondering what to do this summer and thinking a camping or backpacking trip is in the plans, then we’ve got some great ideas for you and places to go visit in the US. You can have an affordable vacation camping, hiking, biking or canoeing and you’ll be spending time in the outdoors and having fun. Here are some tips for you to make the most of your vacation time and be well prepared.
The first step is to head into your garage and closets and see what kind of camping gear you currently have and decide if you’re going on a traditional camping trip in the car at a camp site or you’re going to do some real backpacking and head out deep into the wilderness. You’ll need some basics and you can find most of them on Fabswapp for absolutely free like: A hiking backpack, tent, stove, cooler, pots and pans (aluminum is the lightest), outdoor clothes: shorts, shirts, sweaters in in case it gets cold, hiking boots, axe to chop wood, tent, tarp, air mattress, air pump, matches/lighter, plates, bowls, paper towels and some soap. You’ll also need some typical personal items to bring along and this time get some bug repellent, sun tan lotion and Aloe Vera gel in case you get sunburned or a cooking burn.
Now you get to figure out where to go and camp or hike. Wherever you go make sure you bring a map and plan your trip accordingly. Here are some of the top places to visit and set up camp and what they have to offer you. These places have a good mix of campgrounds and backpacking trails that will lead you to some spectacular locations where you can set up camp and enjoy the wilderness. With this much area to cover you just might want to hit a couple places along the way.
